This event is a panel discussion co-hosted by Seattle 500 Women Scientists and UAW Local 4121. Following up on the Nov 19th & 20th NASEM public summit of the Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education, this panel will explore the ways that grassroots collective action can help prevent and address sexual harassment in STEM fields and in academia at large. The panel is from 2pm-3pm at Anthony’s Forum inside Dempsey Hall on UW campus. Following this, there will be a social mixer at the College Inn Pub, in the Snug Room (4006 University Way NE) from 3:30pm to 5pm. Both events are open to people of all genders, and allies as well as those new to the movement. The panel event is open to people of all ages, but the mixer venue is 21+ only.
